STATEMENT: Jack Reynolds to Challenge Incumbent Republican Charlie Geren for Texas House District 99

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October, 23, 2023

Tarrant County, Texas. Life-long Texan and conservative Tarrant County activist, Jack Reynolds, has thrown his hat in the ring for a coveted Texas House Seat in Tarrant County currently occupied by Charlie Geren. Voters will be given the opportunity to decide between a bold, Texas-first, conservative leader and a twenty-two-year incumbent many in the district consider to be a “Republican in name only” or RINO.

Reynolds cited the recent impeachment trial of the state’s attorneys general, Ken Paxton, as one of the many reasons he has decided to enter the primary race for the district’s state house seat.

“Charlie Geren did not simply vote in favor of impeaching AG Paxton,” Reynolds says. “He served as one of only ten impeachment managers, seven of whom were Republicans, and was the only non-lawyer to do so out of the whole group.”

Reynolds added he is not condoning the behaviors alleged at the impeachment trial, but argues, “you would be hard-pressed to convince me that Paxton did anything that Geren and most of the rest of the political class in Austin have not done themselves. I simply cannot stomach that kind of hypocrisy.”

Other issues Reynolds is looking forward to talking about during the campaign include border security, property and state taxes, election security, public education finance, and issues affecting veterans.
