More About Jack
Jack’s narrative speaks to the power of education to transform lives. He is the second youngest of five boys, born to a mother who began having children in 1962 when she was just fifteen years old.
He was the first in his family to graduate high school. He is a twice-honorably discharged Army Infantry and Desert Storm veteran.
He is a first-generation college graduate, graduating cum laude in 2010 at the age of 42 at the height of the financial crisis and ensuing recession. His family moved to Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and he worked his way through graduate school as a high school math teacher, completing his master’s degree in economics in 2013, and a doctoral degree in educational
leadership and policy studies in 2018. He currently teaches college economics and math at a community college.
Him and his wife, April, will celebrate 18 years of marriage this summer and and they have one son, Jackson.
